Comic Book Ramblings: My Thoughts on DC Relaunch, Part 2

My thoughts on DC's the Green Lantern line.

Green Lantern

Another DC book with Geoff Johns at the helm. Will Hal Jordan return? DC has hinted at a new Green Lantern in this series. Will this Green Lantern replace Jordan? Who could it be? Is it some one from the past? We know that Kyle Ryner, Guy Garnder, & John Stewart are in books, but what about the original Green Lantern Alan Scott? Since announcing the cancellation of the Justice Society of America, Alan Scott is now without a title, as well as his daughter Jade. Or will it a completely new character?
Alan Scott
I except that Green Lantern will still be one of DC's main books with no fear of getting cancelled. After all Warner Bros. put quite an investment in the character than to just turn around and have him go bye bye. Plus Johns as proven he's great with the character.

GREEN LANTERN CORPS by Writer by PETER J. TOMASI, Artists FERNANDO PASARIN & SCOTT HANNA.

Green Lantern Corps
All DC has said about this book is that Guy Gardner & John Stewart return leading an elite strike force against some deadly universal conflict. Guy is already in DC's Justice League International book. Why stick him with the Corps? I guest they don't believe John Stewart can hold a book by himself without the more charismatic Guy Gardner with him. Well I don't know if I would pick this book up. The Corps doesn't interest me unless Jordan in the book. My feels are that the Corps make great supporting cast, not a good team book. I feel they take away from the main Green Lantern, whether it's Hal Jordan or Kyle Rayner. That's the one thing I like about the Rayner character is the it made the hero unique with the one ring. Oh well.

DC has placed Kyle Rayner as a member of a "Spectrum Corps". Not to sure what to think about this title. Wasn't a big fan of Kyle Rayner's creation in the 1990s. But he does have a fan following. Not that DC ever listens to it's fans, cause then they would have never created him in the first place. Besides Rayner, none of it's members are known cause of DC censoring the cover art. But we do know that a Star Sapphire is a member. My question is will it be Hal's ex-girlfriend Carol Ferris?

RED LANTERNS #1 Written by PETER MILLIGAN Art and cover by ED BENES and ROB HUNTER

Red Lanterns
DC has giving Red Lantern Atrocitus & his Corps their own series. Artist Ed Benes is one big reason to pick this book up. His art is always gorgeous to look at and writer Peter Milligan of DC's Hitman fame knows how to have his characters cut themselves a bloody path of destruction. So this one should be entertaining.
